DO NOT attempt installation unless you are mechanically and electrically competent. If in any doubt, go to a competent auto electrician and/or mechanic, and ensure that these installation guidelines are reviewed prior to installation. As with any part on motor vehicle, mechanical failure, serious injury or worse can occur if installed incorrectly. Put that cigarette out NOW!
I recommend that you have your injectors cleaned, tested and rebuilt prior to re-installation - check my usefull links page at www.v12s.com
for injector testing, cleaning etc.
I recommend that you replace the FI Hose in your Jaguar every 5 years.
I recommend replacing your FI Harness if it is more than 5 years old - chances are that the wire insulation will crack internally and cause shorts if you disturb the harness in any way. At the very minimum, raise the harness off the oil gallery and attach it at the FI injector mounting plates upon re-assembly. My FI Harness, available at www.v12s.com

Removal Instructions:
Please follow the instructions in your Jaguar Workshop Manual to remove the following items:
- Depressurise the fuel injection system
- Disconnect the battery!
- Remove the FI Harness connectors from each Fuel Injector - the spring clips on the connectors are bonded into the plastic connector on one side, you can shave some of the plastic off with a knife so that you can remove the spring clips to make it easier to disconnect the FI connector without damaging the injector
- Remove fuel rail (I found it easiest to cut all the FI hoses and remove the rail without the injectors, then it is easier to undo the nuts holding the injectors)
- Cut old injector fuel hoses exactly half way between rail and injector
- Be careful not to damage fuel rail barbs or injector barbs in any way
- Use tin snips to remove hose ferrules/sleeves (never re-use old ferrules/sleeves)
- Cut old FI Hose about 1/10th inch at end and try to unwind the hose in an anti-clockwise direction as you tear the hose until all the hose has been removed from the rail and each injector (old hose may disintegrate - keep it from entering the fuel injector)
- Do not damage the barbs on the rail and fuel injectors in any way
Re-installation Instructions:
Please follow the instructions in your Jaguar Workshop Manual to re-install the fuel rail and all related components:
- Use new ferrules/sleeves on each injector and fuel rail - NEVER use hose clamps on HE fuel rails and injectors that have multiple barbs - clamps cut the FI hose internally.
- NEVER install new FI hose on an HE fuel rail without ferrules/sleeves - excessive fuel pressure due to failed regulators will cause the hose to blow off the rail and/or injectors.
- Push FI hose on to fuel rail until it is fully seated within the ferrule/sleeve - check each hose to ensure that it is properly seated.
- Push the injector on to the hose attached to the fuel rail until the hose is fuly seated within the ferrule/sleeve - check each hose to ensure that it is properly seated.
- If you are installing this FI Hose on non-HE fuel rail with single barbs on the injectors and rail then you must use FI hose clamps - NEVER use radiator hose clamps.
- Re-install everything as per the instructions in your Jaguar Workshop Manual and check for leaks before you go for a drive.
